Summary
Proposing a "series of Discourses delivered in one of the Churches of this city during the approaching Autumn and Winter, in which the Evidences of Religion shall be discussed with special reference to the objections now most current and influential;" asking that they review the list of topics and choose one and indicate the time they would like to deliver their address; saying that "It is desired that the discussions should be conducted by the ablest minds of the Church, and that in a printed form they should contribute permanently to the honour of religion and the welfare of men. We desire especially that the wants of young men of cultivated and thoughtful habits should be kept in view in the preparation of these Discourses."
