Summary
Chastising him for his infidelity; saying that he has "only to hope that you may be more faithful to the lady than you have been to your vows of celibacy. In all seriousness, my dear Brother, I consider every clergyman of your age entitled to judge for himself in such matters. I am no advocate for clerical celibacy, tho I wish more of our brethren would follow your example in passing the first four or five years of their Ministry without your encumbrances or even engagements that pertain to matrimony--actual or prospective."
