Notes
At the time of writing, Horatio Potter was a professor of mathematics at Washington College (now Trinity College) in Hartford, Connecticut and Alonzo Potter was the rector of St. Paul's Church, Boston.
Horatio and Alonzo Potter were brothers; Alonzo Potter was the Bishop of Pennsylvania from 1845-1865.
