Summary
Being a letter in two parts, the first acknowledging the receipt of his "letter dimissory" for Rev. Henry A. Wise and saying it has been "presented and accepted: expressing, in the second part of the letter, his "great gratification at your conservative course in the House of Bishops. Few alas! of my former friends have allowed me the privilege of making to them a similar acknowledgment. I fear that on the resumption of our old ecclesiastical relations there will be a painful disturbance of personal intimacy 'tho I trust no change of interest for evangelical truth."
