Summary
Expressing his pleasure to be delivering the sermon at his consecration and asking if the date could be November 18th; expressing his hope that Bishop Hopkins will preside and suggesting he ask Bishops Green [Mississippi] and Lay [Arkansas] as principals; adding, in a postscript, that he had no wish to change the place of consecration to Richmond, as he believes New Orleans to be the most fitting place, but offering Richmond to him if it better suited his personal needs.
