Summary
Thanking him for his "fatherly advice" and saying that he wished he had advised him to leave Marblehead immediately, "yet to do it would evidently be so distressing to the parish, as to make perhaps a greater trial to leave than to stay;" referring to his "embarrassments" and his failed efforts to address the situation directly with the parish; hoping to see him in Marblehead so that he might prepare "the few of my flock who desire it" for confirmation."
