Expressing gratitude that the war has ended; describing the challenges that face the Church as it heals from the divided loyalties among the clergy; urging the clergy to bring together the friends that the war has separated; reminding the clergy of the rights of the people to think and speak their mind; discussing the consequences of war and the demoralization of the nation and the increase in profanity and infidelity; asking that they increase the number of schools of Christian education; wishing that this General Convention will be remembered for the "Restoration of those beloved brethren of the Southern Dioceses, to our old fraternal unity."
