Saying he has been informed that he will be delivering lectures in Philadelphia on Romanism; saying that he is saddened and astonished at the news and saying he should have been consulted; adding "My repugnance to the measure is so great, & so firmly established, that I must beseech you, my dear brother, to reconsider it."
