Offering condolences following Philander Chase's death; noting that he is writing an article for the Church Review at the special request of Samuel Chase and Dudley Chase's mother; discussing the presentment of Bishop [George Washington] Doane and letters written to Philander Chase on this subject by Bishops [William] Meade and McIlvaine. McIlvaine's postscript is also regarding the presentment.
