Summary
Informing him that the State Legislature has granted a charter "for the establishment of an Episcopal College;" informing him of the amounts raised to date; informing him that Nathaniel Wheaton will travel to England "for the purpose of soliciting donations of Books for the establishment of a Library;" asking if the Bishop would provide him the necessary credentials for the trip and also any letters of introduction that he deems appropriate; apologizing for being absent at the examination of the students at the Theological Seminary in New York; suggesting that the Seminary might attract more students if it were located in a country town, "less expensive, easily accessible and of less extravagant habits."
