Discussing the appropriate alliance for the Seminary within the Church; saying that he believes it should not be allied with any faction within the Church; saying that the "Dioceses of Pennsylvania and Maryland have come out nobly in our favour. Both the Bishops are our decided friends and we shall have the undivided support of every Diocese in the Union except N. York and N. Jersey. The latter state has not the ability to do any thing of consequence."
