Saying how pleased he is with his latest "publication against Romanism whose inroads among peaceable Protestants have been, of late, both insidious and predatory;" discussing the continuing controversy within the church with respect to the Oxford Movement and the Tractarians; asking, in a postscript, if he has read the latest issue of The Irish Ecclesiastical Journal titled "Mr. Newman's Sermons on the Subject of the Day" and saying that it ought to be published in the United States and distributed to every Clergyman.
