Summary
Exulting on the combination of rosemary and lavender in a chest of drawers and thanking him profusely for some crab-apple jelly; briefly describing her travels in California and Chicago that autumn; hoping that he will visit New York soon; mentioning an exhibit of Perrault at the Morgan Library and describing an event for the Grolier and Metropolitan Clubs the night before, which she attended with Thornton Wilder, Robert Frost and others; wondering "But why anyone buys keeps manuscripts I don't know. They are delusion -- written (transcribed) for exhibition or a disreputable mass of errors. A second or authorized version is all one wants; don't you think?"
