Summary
Relating news of various people and their positions in the Administration in England and commenting on the war in America; offering his advice on the continuing campaign by Francis against Warren Hastings; saying that he is "not equal to giving advice, but if I were I have but one to give, Stay where you are, I should repeat that over & over again, Stay, Stay, whatever people may write to you I am perfectly convinced you have by much the best chance of any man living to be Gov'nr Gen'l. I do not say by any means a certainty, but the time in which it must be determined is so near, that it would be compleat [sic] folly to throw away the chance by withdrawing."
