Summary
Commenting on the dispute with Hastings; saying "It is past all doubt with me that neither Hastings nor Barwell can be continued in their offices by any administration with the heavy charges that stand against them in the late letters of the Directors. It would bring a slur upon this Parliament which could never he washed away--and even supposing Parliament should not interfere, it is very unlikely that the Directors would dare to continue men in power whom they have censured with so much asperity."
