Summary
Commenting on the situation with Warren Hastings; saying that he understands that he [Francis] is "going home, and that Mr. Wheler has openly joined the Governor. Be it so or not--if you think it worthwhile, I believe you may have Coote on your own Terms--he is dissatisfied & makes no scruple of speaking in pretty plain terms, his Resentment against H[astings];" saying that he knows that "the State of this Country is beyond a Cure, but it will be rendering an essential Service to protract the Loss of it whilst any Benefit can be derived from it and I am still, as ever have been, of Opinion that you are the only Man we can look up to."
