Summary
Discussing an ongoing financial issue concerning Baggs; telling him that Mr. D'Oyly had resigned [as Deputy-Secretary of the War Office] and that he had been offered the position, but declined; saying he has "schemes floating in my mind about a certain six months' voyage;" adding that he hears "from good authority the Princess Dowager cannot last for many days."
