Remarking on the political situation, noting that it "is enough to agate the mind of a calmer person than I am" and discussing the ramifications of the Duke of Grafton's resignation; mentioning that his wife safely delivered a girl on 25 January; sending regards to Colonel Francis and telling him to take care of his lands in America. With a postscript assuring him that his children are well; and mentioning again (upon the receipt of another letter) his lands in America.
