Summary
Remarking that John Wilkes lost the mayoral race, but was successfully elected as the parliamentary representative for Middlesex; describing a carriage accident and mentioning that he has "commenced an action" against the owner; mentioning mutual acquaintances and supposing the war will break out afresh; asking about his prospects in America, reassuring him that he will always have a home and "a means of keeping your head above water" with Francis. Continuing the letter the following day, having received a parcel of letters from Macrabie. Saying he is glad to hear that his American cousins are treating him so well and are so beautiful, but remarking "you have my leave to [excised] you please with them but marry." Asking him to assess his cousin's scheme for purchasing 1,000 acres.
