Summary
Saying that he wrote infrequently before because it was "uncertain whether you were floating upon the surface, or lying flat on you back at the Bottom of the Sea," but will correspond more regularly now that he has received a letter; asking whether Francis' cousins have been welcoming; wondering at the financial solvency of Macrabie's employer; discussing an annuity for some poor relations; sending a court calendar for 1768; remarking that they are eagerly awaiting news about tensions in Boston; mentioning that his father suffered an attack of palsy and mentioning other mutual acquaintances. With a postscript promising to write by each pacquet and giving political news.
