Mentioning that his brother Jeff stopped in Camden briefly on his way from St. Louis to New York and that he may call on the Prices. Asking that Helen thank Miss Hillard for her letter of condolence on his mother's death, noting "I have not felt to write her, or any one buy my sisters, about mother's death -- the great dark cloud of my life -- the only staggering, staying blow & trouble I have had -- but unspeakable -- my physical sickness, bad as it is, is nothing to it."
