Summary
Saying that he can only write a short letter because "my paralysis still leaves me extremely feeble;" remarking, however, that he shall certainly recover and that his mind is as clear as ever. Thanking her for a letter of condolence on his sister Martha's death, and thanking her for the invitation to visit New York, noting that he might like to once he is better but that he is presently still to ill to travel.
