Responding to her letter concerning [their downstairs lodger] Stanton, regretting that he is annoying and asking her to keep him apprised of the situation. Mentioning the weather and noting that he "continue[s] to get letters &c from abroad about my book" and has received a letter from the editor [Rudolf Schmidt] of the foremost magazine in Denmark, who is preparing a review and translation of Whitman's works.
