Summary
A list of twenty-one points of advice for the younger generation. Vollman precedes the list by remarking that "every time is without precedent; every generation is the most novel ever, so it's hard to see why my advice should be any more timely than Plato's" and concludes with a postscript "P.S. No advice will do a damned bit of good." Some points of advice include: "9. Boycott television, lawyers, shopping malls and other opiates of the masses;" "11. If you have money and want to travel, don't go to the Arctic, the Galapagos and other sensitive areas that are being destroyed by people like you;" "13. Don't be afraid to die for what you believe in, but try not to kill others for it;" "15. Anyone can be an artist of sorts. At the very least, trying to create something beautiful will help you see beauty in other created things, and that will make you happy" and "21. If you can't save the world in any other way, try your own private army."
