Summary
Regretting that he has no news about Lord Howe; mentioning an outing with Mrs. Damer to the theater and discussing the performance; remarking that he met the Comte de Coigni, who will join Lord Moira's campaign as a volunteer; relating a confusing story about just having received a letter intended for Lady Orford or Lady Oxford. Continuing the letter on Thursday noon: giving an unconfirmed report about Lord Howe's taking five ships. Continuing the letter at Three o'clock: remarking that he has just received an additional report concerning Lord Howe's taking of five ships, but that he will not confirm the reports until he sees a report in Howe's own hand.
