Remarking on the "horrible tragedy of the Queen of France," but noting that he has learned no new particulars and that "now the protracted martyrdom is completed, I shall be curious to learn of nothing of that bloody and atrocious nation but its punishment." Reporting that Marshall Conway has just visited and shared bad news regarding Lyons but also had good news regarding the Prince of Saxe Cobourg gaining a victory over the French at Maubeuge.
