Summary
Wondering why he has not received a letter from them as expected, fearing that Agnes has taken ill on the road; detailing his recent engagements with mutual acquaintances. Continuing the letter on Monday night: reporting that her servant James brought her letter that evening. Continuing the letter on Tuesday morning, 10 o'clock, October 1: hoping that the country will cure Agnes's cold; asking only for news of themselves and regretting that he has not received any news yet that day to share. Signing the letter "Your devoted, Le survivant de M. le Maréchal de Beauvau - His principality I outlived four years ago." With a postscript concerning sending Agnes's lame mare to Yorkshire.
