Summary
Discussing the suspense of keeping his house in readiness for a supposed visit of the Duchess of York; giving an account of the movement of some French troops; asking for an account of her journey. With a postscript telling them to take care of themselves; reporting that the Duchess will visit the following day; and referencing a letter from Mr. P[inkerton] asking Walpole to assist him in consulting Bishop Douglas about"some point of Scottish history."
