Summary
Responding to her letter concerning her distress at the newspaper article [that suggested the Berrys friendship with Walpole was not disinterested], assuring her that he will be the most miserable of men if their friendship has brought her grief. Noting that his nephew's death and his own illnesses have weakened him and that her uneasiness would finish him for good. Noting that he wants her to live in Cliveden and instructing her not to put stock in newspaper reports.
