Summary
Recording a parody ("To the tune of The Cow with the Crumpledy Horn etc.") of the Elizabeth Gunning scandal; noting that he met and was unimpressed by the Duchess of Albany, amentioninging several mutual acquaintances; noting that Mrs. Damer has caught an English cold; mentioning that a "poor old gentlewoman" has died and made him executor of her estate and trustee of her daughters; remarking that the particulars are not appropriate for the post. Continuing the letter on Friday noon, 3rd: remarking that Mrs. Damer is "much better" With a postscript concerning the trial of Warren Hastings.
