Summary
Remarking that he has no news; mentioning that nothing more is known of the Russian war or the new Secretary of State; noting that the Duke of York has gone to Berlin, that the Prince of Wales is ill, that General Conway was injured when his horse slipped and rolled over him, that Mrs. Damer will return by the 10th, that the "Queen Dowager of England, alias the Countess of Albany" has arrived along with a "packet of French dukes;" mentioning that La Fayette has resumed command and noting that the Parisian mob is ready to riot; and that Paine has published "the most seditious pamphlet ever seen." Continuing the letter on Friday noon, 6th: hoping to receive a letter soon.
