Summary
Remarking that his pains are gone but that he will be cautious to avoid a relapse; adding a "shocking (not a fatal) codicil to Gunnilda's story" [the Elizabeth Gunning scandal]; discussing the opening of two theaters. Continuing the letter on 20th: mentioning mutual acquaintances, regretting that Ohara [was not made Lieutenant-Governor of Gibraltar] and noting that Colonel Lenox is ill; noting that his own illness has brought several visitors to his home and that he has the most recent news to share. Continuing the letter on 21st: adding to the Gunning story.
