Summary
Thanking him for information about and part 1 of "the cheap Dickens" (the new Household Edition of Dickens's works, pub. 1871-1879); asking about sale figures and saying he is glad to hear that the business is doing well. Noting that his wife is with Fred in New South Wales and that he has been in Brisbane alone for six weeks [researching material for his book Australia and New Zealand]. Regretting that he will miss that season of hunting in England, but noting that he has had some good kangaroo hunting in Australia. Asking about an Australian publisher's declaration that he has purchased from Chapman and Hall the right to reprint Trollope's [as yet unwritten and unplanned] novel about Australia.
