Summary
Saying that the "Danish Jew's [Meyer Aaron Goldschmidt] account of Ole Bull is not uninteresting and might do for the Magazine;" apologizing for being so late with "Philip" but suggesting that the "double Roundabout paper can stand over, & that I had best go away somewhere and not return without at least 2 numbers of Philip in my portfolio. It takes me a week always to get the steam up, and in doing those Roundabouts I let it go down;" asking about his mother's pension in a postscript.
