Requesting that the lectures not go to print without his review; relating the financial success of his lecture tour; saying he has had no time to work on a book; asking that he send over "pretty note-paper" for a "very pretty young lady, who is not the only one of that sort in New York;" asking for news of Mrs. Thackeray and requesting that he make an inquiry as to whether she needs any money before he returns.
