Summary
Accepting the "Xtian Hero" [Sir Richard Steele's tract, 1701] and wishing he lived nearer and could poke around the old books in his shop; reflecting that "I am living 100 years ago" and has been reading "scores and scores of old volumes." Wishing he could help with the Wexford story but apologetically informing him that he cannot recommend any more books to the London publishers as he has "wearied them quite out with applications."
