Summary
Concerning some confusion about the publication of certain numbers [of the Newcomes]. Complaining that his health has been awful and noting that "My visit to Rome is all begloomed by my illnesses;" mentioning that he has had to dine in with his daughters lately but remarking "My girls are the very best in the world: the most cheerful: pleasant to be with: affectionate -- they have been happy this tour at any rate, however wiceywursy their Father has been." Asking him to pay some accounts; mentioning the added expense of travelling with his daughters.
