Sending by a servant the dedication, preface and title to the Cornhill and Cairo; enclosing a letter from Mr. Fraser, the Paris correspondent of the Morning Chronicle, relating to the memoirs of General Pépé; asking if an accompanying story would be appropriate for their novel series or for the Edinburgh Tales, noting it is by "the lady who wrote the popular series about Talleyrand in the N.M. Magazine" [probably Mrs. Colmache].
