Summary
Noting that she is writing him, even though she has noting to say about the last six weeks since his departure, because he must expect a letter from her. Remarking that she began a letter the previous day but had to lay it aside because her husband came home a day earlier than expected to find that her brother-in-law was staying with them in Mr. Brookfield's room. Mentioning that Mr. Doyle and Mr. Lemesurier excitedly talked about Pendennis and Laura the night before, noting that she has not been able to read the latest number yet because Mr. Brookfield accidentally left their copy at Clevedon. Sharing some gossip about mutual acquaintances; noting that she is getting stronger and that Baby is "much better."
