Summary
Saying that the chapters in question from the autograph manuscript of "Vanity Fair" "were in a box from my Father's study with the rest of his mss.;" saying that she didn't know of the manuscript until her father's papers were sorted through and some were given to Trinity and to Charterhouse; adding that she had not heard of "any more in any body's possession besides our own....& it is quite possible my Father may have burned a great many papers when he left the house in 1854."
