Mentioning that "with the gold pen there's not knowing how and what I write;" remarking on his changed handwriting and noting that it seems as if he speaks with a different voice. Noting that he attended Harry [Hallam's] funeral at Clevedon and describing it. Remarking that he is able to joke only with children besides his own. Asking her to write that she is cheerful and that she loves her "affectionate old brother;" asking when she will see the children and mentioning a trip to "Sir Joncamobbus" [i.e., Sir John Cam Hobhouse."
