Summary
Remarking that as he was waiting to see Mrs. Buller he found an old review containing a large part of an article he wrote on Fielding in 1840. Recalling that he wrote the article just as his wife was sickening and that she attempted suicide twelve days after publication. Remarking on the changes in his life since then, noting that he has had "no little" of grief, love and fame since then.
