Summary
Remarking that he wrote her a letter three nights ago in the French language but noting that he did not send it and wishing that he had some news of her; mentioning that his parents will come to visit the following week and that he has been refusing dinner invitations. Discussing the French letter he wrote, remarking that it was written by a different man than he, musing that "a language I'm sure would change a man: so does hand-writing." Wondering how many people she actually is, noting "you are Mr. Packmans Mrs. B and Mr. Jackson's Mrs. B and ah you are my Mrs. B," and apologizing for making her out to be an Ogre's wife. Mentioning that he is inviting Mr. Brookfield to dine the following day, and promising to drink to her health.
