Provenance
Sold by Mrs. Collins to Swinburne's biographer Thomas J. Wise; sold by Wise to Stevens & Brown of London, which firm sold them to J. Pearson & Co.; purchased by Pierpont Morgan from the London dealer J. Pearson & Co. in 1911.
Summary
Regretting to have missed seeing him in London; remarking that if Swinburne had a definite address he would have already sent Grosart's and his own notes on Tourneur's "luminous and graceful poem" and enclosing (not present) two letters from Grosart on the topic, giving Collins permission to use them for his edition and briefly remarking on a point in Grosart's argument.
