Summary
Concerning the scandal surrounding Lady Burton (and the recent death and reburial of her husband, and the rumor that she burned his translation of The Scented Garden); remarking that Swinburne cannot "hit her harder or straighter" than he did in his Elegy to Burton, and suggesting that Linton "expose and chastise her." Assuring her that it would not be like "two cats spitting," but rather "like one noble specimen of that noblest and loveliest of creatures springing and setting her paw ... on a furtive though audacious rat."
