Summary
Remarking that Whistler has just sent him a card of admission for the private view of his forthcoming exhibition and inviting her to come with him. Asking her to respond by return of post since Whistler has not issued many cards and Swinburne knows others "who would give their ears for it." Mentioning that he has seen some of the works to be exhibited and remarking that "second only -- if second to anything -- to the very greatest works of art in any age."
