Summary
Regretting that he is unable to meet her friends, remarking that he and Watts have been at Eastbourne since Friday week and plan to stay as long as the weather permits. Recalling that last year he read her "powerful and terrible little story 'Stabbed in the Dark'" while he was at the seaside; noting that he has "nothing so good or so striking to read" this year and that he is "better off for my favourite business of swimming." Sending regards from Watts.
