Summary
Writing to clarify an (evidently misreported) incident that occurred at a recent banquet at the Limerick Athenaeum where Henry George was attacked in an address by the Rev. E. Sheehy; i.e., "Rev. E. Sheehy made an attack upon George for some expressions made use of by the latter in London, whereupon a voice called 'Groans for Henry George." No groans were given in response, but a counter cry of 'Cheers for George' was responded to by about one third the audience. A paragraph in The Freeman of Wednesday explained the mistake in reporting the incident."
