Wishing him and Jane a happy new year and noting that she is writing to Jane by the same post (see MA 3848.51). Apologizing for not having written earlier, mentioning that she has been incredibly ill; praising his "The Gothic Revival," noting that her copy is presently roaming Mexico or the United States ("who knows?") in her lost luggage, along with all her best clothes and notes of the last three years. Mentioning Geoffrey Grigson's autobiography "The Crest on the Silver" and discussing him and Mr. Lewis. Asking if he has seen Wystan Auden's anthology and praising it, noting that she will review it for the Times Literary Supplement.
