Summary
Returning a note that she received from Ruskin and saying that "I know you will like to feel sure that such a note has not fallen into strange hands & also it may be some guide to you of his state of mind. Be satisfied we will not breathe or hint it to a soul. I have not gone about telling of him--nor liking to seem to boast of knowing him. I thought it would be time enough by & by so I have no temptation to let a word slip;" saying she will "write a short chatty letter to him such as will not let him know when this illness is over that I ever knew a thing. You may trust us implicitly in every way."
